Description

The TonkBio Uracil-DNA Glycocasylase (UDG) is expressed from recombinant clone of E. Coil, and the molecular weight is 25 kDa. The optimum reaction temperature of UDG is 50°C.

The TonkBio Uracil-DNA Glycocasylase (UDG) is designed to prevent contamination of PCR amplification products. One important function of this enzyme is to hydrolyzes uracil-glycosidic bonds at U-DNA sites in single- and double-stranded DNA, excising uracil and creating alkali- and heat-sensitive abasic sites in the DNA.

Unit definition

One unit of the enzyme is the amount that completely cleaves 1 μg ds-DNA with dU in one hour at 37°C in the condition of 20 mM Tris-Hcl (PH8.0), 1 mM EDTA, 10 mM NaCl.

Attention

  • Since UDG works well in different frequently used PCR reaction systems, it is unnecessary to add UDG buffer. User should adjust the volume of UDG according to different reaction systems.
  • To avoid contamination of PCR amplification products, dUTP should be used in all amplification reactions.
